The COVID-19 epidemic is one of the first major worldwide events in human history that is being broadcast live on social media.

Social media creates a unique situation for people that hasn’t existed before: everyone more or less experiences the same thing at the same time. 

 

However, most truly global events happened before social media. Even 9/11, the Arab Spring and the Hong Kong Protests were technically regional.

 

Now, people who live across the globe from one another and maybe living completely different lives are being impacted by the exact same disease.

 

How do we with different cultural backgrounds, education, religions, and political ideas deal with the same virus? 

 

We put together this website for people to tell their stories. 

 

Some people might think it is globalization that brought us COVID-19, and we agree. But we also believe that globalization has given us the tools to fight it.

 

We are all in it together.
